Oil Product Processing Specialist

The Hydropothecary is a licensed producer of medical marijuana, which is sold legally and directly to patients with a medical document from their doctor through our company website. We are currently seeking an Oil Product Processing Specialist who will be responsible for the extraction, blending, diluting and packaging of medical cannabis oil, as well as completing all required documentation. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Preparing and operating extraction machinery;
  • Blending bulk cannabis oils to produce a finished oil dilution;
  • Working with the Quality Assurance team to submit samples for analysis;
  • Entering production and analysis data into an oil production database, and ensuring said database is accurate and updated at all times;
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment, utensils and facilities used in the process;
  • Adhering to safe and sanitary working procedures and practices at all times;
  • Assisting the Dry Product processing team as required.

Graphic Designer

We are currently seeking a Graphic Designer to join our expanding team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will develop print and digital marketing material, play an active role in ensuring Hydropothecary’s presence on multiple social media platforms, and participate in the execution of various campaigns. Although reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will be expected to work closely and liaise with our Business Development team and Communications experts.

Among other things, the Graphic Designer will be expected to:

  • Assist in the development, review and update of all marketing materials (print and digital), ensuring branding guidelines are respected at every level;
  • Participate in the development and execution of a Social Media Strategy and generate required imagery for social media,
  • Liaise with service providers, including agencies, art services, printers, etc. to ensure completion of mandates and projects within established timelines;
  • Assist the Marketing Manager in the development and execution of various other marketing campaigns and activities.

Requirements:

  • A diploma in graphic design or other related field (as well as a portfolio) is required;

Cleaning Specialist

We are currently seeking a Cleaning Specialist who will report to the Facilities and Security Manager. The Cleaning Specialist will work closely with other Facilities staff to ensure that office spaces, shared spaces and production areas are cleaned in accordance with Standards Operating Procedures and Health Canada requirements. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Clean various workspaces in accordance with the pre-established schedule.
  • Ensure cleaning of offices spaces: sweep and mop floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting and upholstered furniture.
  • Clean and disinfect public areas such as lunchrooms and washrooms.
  • Empty Trash containers and recycling bins.
  • Periodically wash windows and walls.
  • Clean walkways, hallways, walls and/or counters in the Production area in accordance with SOP and ACMPR requirements. This includes greenhouses, laboratories and other secured areas.

Requirements:

  • Experience in industrial and/or commercial cleaning is an asset.

    Dried Product Personnel

    The Hydropothecary Corporation is a licensed producer of medical marijuana, which is sold legally and directly to patients with a medical document from their doctor through our company website.     • Be able to work in a clean and efficient manner.
    • Be capable of performing repetitive tasks and manual labour.

    Under the supervision of the Dried Product Processing Team Lead or his/her assigned alternate, the Dried Product Personnel will be responsible for executing the following tasks:

    • Milling, decarboxylation, and packaging of dried product.
    • Organizing storage spaces for dried product.
    • Clean and sanitize all equipment used in processing of dried product.
    • Keep records of all processes and report these to senior staff members.

    In addition to their primary tasks, Dried Product Personnel may aid the Harvest Team or the Oil Processing team as required.

    All Dried Product Personnel must understand and follow all regulations, guidelines, and company policies pertaining to safety, security, and handling of product. They must read, understand, and adhere to all standard operating procedures pertaining to the work they have been assigned.

    Dried Product Personnel must be able to work effectively with others and understand their role within a team setting. They are expected to communicate with other members of staff in a respectful and civil way.

    Dried Product Personnel must be punctual and reliable in their attendance and flexible to work evenings and weekends should production require.

    Dried Product Personnel are responsible for keeping clean records of day to day activities.     Site Supervisor 6 month contract

    We are currently seeking a Site Supervisor who will report to the Director, Capitals Projects. The site supervisor to work on an ongoing construction project. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Supervising sub-contractors by locating, monitoring and controlling site access;
    • Preventing fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes. Developing effective communication between field and other project staff;

    Quality Assurance Specialist

    We are currently seeking an Quality Assurance Specialist. Reporting to the Manager, Quality Management, the Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the quality assurance systems for medical cannabis in strict compliance with Health Canada’s Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR). The Quality Assurance Assistant is responsible for supporting the company’s Quality Assurance, production, maintenance and facilities departments. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Performs QA monitoring in all areas of upstream and downstream production processes and communicates results to respective area stakeholders. This He/She will be mainly accountable for any production
    • Performs laboratory functions such as testing, equipment management and test product development
    • Provides inventory assistance to upstream and downstream production processes
    • Assists in quality assurance activities and ensure compliance with Health Canada’s guidelines and guidelines pertaining to production, processing, packaging, labeling, shipping
    • Ensure compliance with regulations through internal auditing and quality systems by performing audits in production, facilities and maintenance for inventory, GPP, GMP and process quality compliance
    • Communicates any non-compliances to respective department stakeholders

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • Ability to work in both French and English with strong oral and written communication skills in both languages
    • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in a technical discipline required
    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Food, Physical, or Biological Sciences preferred) is an asset

    Packaging Specialist – Night Shift

    We are currently seeking Prepack Specialists who will be responsible for ensuring a good production flow in order to fulfill orders and market demand. The Prepack Specialist functions includes, but is not limited to:

    • Ensure quality control;
    • General maintenance of equipment and materials;
    • Clean and prepare containers for filling;
    • Load materials and products into package processing equipment;
    • Stack and pile goods into containers;
    • Prepare goods for shipment;
    • Monitor & operate multiple equipment for filling, sealing, capping & labelling;
    • Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records;
    • Audits of stock level, expiry date checking and prepack log;
    • Maintain detailed and accurate work flow;

    The ideal candidate holds a minimum of experience working on a production chain.     Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator

    The HSE Coordinator will be responsible for supporting and facilitating the implementation of environment, health and safety programs designed to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements specific to each of Hexo’s locations.

    Integrated Quality Management System in accordance with ISO standards.

    Assist in the development, implementation and on-going maintenance of an ISO-compliant Quality Management Program;

    Production Planner

    Responsibilities

    • Plan and coordinate all production activities;
    • Prepare production planning and evaluate needs and capacity

    Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

    We are currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor who will report to the Director of Facilities and Security. The Facilities Supervisor will oversee our facilities team to ensure the overall upkeep of our installations, maintain production equipment and ensure a safe work environment.

    This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Supervise a team of Facilities Specialists, including hiring, directing, training, and scheduling;
    • Prioritize, dispatch and ensure completion of requests to repair or replace fixtures and/or equipment. The incumbent will be expected to take part in projects such as installing or moving furniture and equipment, drywall repair and painting, minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.
    • Participate in the development of a maintenance schedule and ensure preventative maintenance of equipment such as HVAC systems, production machinery and building components.
    • Liaise with licensed service providers as required for specific maintenance or installation projects and ensure completion of work in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.
    • Conduct workplace inspections to ensure all equipment and workspaces are safe and up to Code, identify and eliminate (whenever possible) Occupational Health and Safety risks.

    Manufacturing Engineer

    Job Description:

    • Plan and design production area layouts.
    • Research and/or study new machinery and production area layouts, recommending efficient combinations.

    Packaging Manager

    We are currently seeking a Secondary Packaging Manager who will report to the Vice-President of Operations. The Secondary Packaging Manager manages and oversees the secondary packaging process on multiple shifts to achieve operational objectives. Secondary packaging includes label printing, label application and bulk packaging. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Observes, analyzes, and researches secondary packaging line operation to develop and implement efficient processes;
    • Implement quality control check to ensure that environmental, health, and safety regulations are met;
    • Coordinates schedules, provides training and direction to staff and ensure proper equipment function and efficient processing;

    Horticulture Technician

      Trades helpers and labourers perform some or all the following duties:
    • Load and unload building materials and place them in work areas

    Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HRBP will contribute to strategic discussions and decision-making with assigned internal client groups. The incumbent is expected to provide ideas and challenge management, thus acting as a catalyst for change and continuous improvement.

    Director of Capital Projects

    We are currently seeking a Director of Capital Projects. Reporting to the Chief Manufacturing Officer, the Director of Capital Projects is responsible for the planning, execution, delivery of and reporting on capital projects (both new construction and amendments to existing facilities) – ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget, in compliance with project specifications and business requirements. The incumbent engages senior executives, internal clients and other stakeholders in capital projects, especially mission-critical projects. Though the focus will be our Belleville facility, the incumbent may oversee projects in alternate locations.

    • Liaise with Management to identify capital planning needs and priorities, including new builds and amendments to existing facilities;
    • Plan and oversee the end-to-end delivery of assigned projects. Develop and implement project plans;
    • Determine resource and budget requirements, cost estimates and timelines;
    • Source third-party service providers/partners, negotiate contracts and ensure satisfactory execution of contractual agreements;
    • Act as main point of contact for suppliers, internal clients and stakeholders. Resolving issues that may arise, manage client expectations and ensure client/stakeholder satisfaction;

    Maintenance Manager – Belleville

    We are currently seeking a Maintenance Manager who will report to the Director, Facilities and Security. The Maintenance Manager will oversee our facilities team to ensure the overall upkeep of our installations, maintain production equipment and ensure a safe work environment.

    • Prioritize, dispatch and ensure completion of requests to repair or replace fixtures and/or equipment. The incumbent will be expected to take part in projects such as installing or moving furniture and equipment, drywall repair and painting, minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.
    • Participate in the development of a maintenance schedule and ensure preventative maintenance of equipment such as HVAC systems, production machinery and building components.

    Tax Manager – Belleville/Montreal/Gatineau

    The Tax Manager will be responsible for tax matters including income, value-added, excise and withholding taxes. The Manager leads the day-to-day operations of these tax functions to meet the Company’s related accounting and compliance obligations and to minimize liabilities. The Tax Manager will provide tax planning and structure support, coordinate international aspects of consolidated income tax provision and Canadian tax reporting, and support tax efficient international expansion.     Licensing Coordinator – Gatineau

    Greenhouse Personnel – Masson Angers

    We are currently seeking full time Greenhouse Employees.

    • Water, ventilate and drain plants;
    • Help to clone plants;
    • Defoliate flowering plants while respecting the flowering cycle;
    • Operate pot-filling machinery;
    • Place plants in the designated places, on tables, or shelves, while respecting the flowering cycle;
    • Respect good manufacturing practices and operating procedures;
    • Clean production areas and equipment;
    • Help with any other related tasks;

    We are looking for punctual people who can work effectively and accurately and who want to contribute to our outstanding team spirit and an exceptional work environment. Overtime may be required on occasion.

    Cleaning and Sanitation Team Lead – Gatineau

    We are currently seeking a full time Cleaning and Sanitation Team Lead.

    • Cleaning and upkeep of offices, public areas, washrooms, storage spaces, processing rooms, employee cafeteria and locker rooms;
    • Complete cleanings tasks as per the company's standard operating procedures following daily, weekly, monthly and periodic cleaning strict schedules;
    • Recording of all cleaning and sanitation tasks completion as per the company's standard operating procedures;
    • Reporting all security related matter as required by the company policy;
    • Responding promptly to requests and job tasks as assigned by supervisors;
    • Proper use and care of equipment and report defects;
    • Reporting all maintenance defects in the facility;
    • Keeping Cleaning & Sanitation closets clean, tidy and properly stocked at all times;
    • Actively participate in the company's recycling program;
    • Reports to C&S Supervisor and C&S Manager;
    • Monitor and guide Cleaning Specialists to ensure timely and effective completion of their daily tasks;
    • Cooperate with the Supervisor and other Team Leads to ensure overall success of the department and provide training to Cleaning Specialists;
    • Liaise with other operation departments' team leads and supervisors;
    • Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager
      Qualifications
    • Must be flexible to work a variety of shifts including but not limited to evenings and weekends;
    • Must be able to stand and walk for extended period of time; lift and carry up to 25 pounds;
    • Commercial cleaning experience preferred;
    • Ability to use computerized equipment and cleaning machines;
    • Excellent time management skills, diligent and complete work in a timely manner;
    • Demonstrate flexibility and sound work ethics;
    • Oral and written communication skills in English and French;
    • Ability to work in a team or independently with little to no supervision;
    • Ability to work at a high standard with an excellent eye for detail

    Assistant Grower – Masson Angers

    We are currently looking for Assistant Growers. These are full time, permanent roles.

    Under the supervision of the Master Grower, the Assistant Grower will execute the following tasks related to production:

    • will maintain and renew mother plants
    • will assist in cloning and germination of new plants
    • will efficiently transplant the plants into desired pots
    • will maintain plants in flowering
    • will effectively scout for insects and diseases
    • will assist in necessary treatments (application of predators, sprays)
    • will be able to follow and supervise work orders provided by the Master Grower
    • will supervise and help with harvesting activities when needed (trimming, drying, etc.)
    • will be able to effectively keep track of inventory of growing plants and work with ICS
    • will be detail oriented and correctly fill out all forms connected to his/her work
    • will show initiative in all activities pertaining to cultivation

    Including all of the above-mentioned tasks, the Assistant Grower will know and follow all sanitation regulations, as well as, security regulations in all their performed tasks. They will strictly follow all the operational procedures they are assigned to as described by the SOPs. They will work efficiently, independently and will be very detail oriented. They will be punctual, available and will maintain a good work atmosphere with their colleagues.

      Qualifications
    • A college diploma in horticulture or related field is required
    • 2-3 years of work in the greenhousing industry
    • Available to work sometimes on weekends
    • Pesticide certification is a plus, but not necessary
