Oil Product Processing Specialist

The Hydropothecary is a licensed producer of medical marijuana, which is sold legally and directly to patients with a prescription from their doctor through our company website. We are currently seeking an Oil Product Processing Specialist who will be responsible for the extraction, blending, diluting and packaging of medical cannabis oil, as well as completing all required documentation. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Preparing and operating extraction machinery;
  • Blending bulk cannabis oils to produce a finished oil dilution;
  • Working with the Quality Assurance team to submit samples for analysis;
  • Entering production and analysis data into an oil production database, and ensuring said database is accurate and updated at all times;
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment, utensils and facilities used in the process;
  • Adhering to safe and sanitary working procedures and practices at all times;
  • Assisting the Dry Product processing team as required.

The ideal candidate holds a diploma in science and experience working in a laboratory environment since this position requires strong attention to detail and strict adherence to written Standards Operating Procedure. Organization skills, demonstrated record keeping abilities and proficiency with MS Office are essential. An understanding of Health Canada’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is an asset. Customer Experience Specialist

We are currently seeking a Customer Experience Specialist to join our team of professionals dedicated to providing 24/7 concierge service for our clients. Your focus will be on assisting with customer acquisitions, relations and care. This includes but is not limited to:

  • As part of a team, managing 24/7 toll free line, answer questions from customers, general public and third parties such as members of law enforcement, doctors, nurse practitioners, caregivers, etc. both orally and in writing.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Access to Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations at all times and reporting any notice of non-compliance to management immediately.
  • Supporting the team of Registration Specialists and participating in the registration process as needed.

Facilities Specialist

We are currently seeking a Facilities Specialist who will report to the Facilities and Security Manager. The Facilities Specialist will work closely with other Facilities staff to ensure the overall upkeep of our installations, maintain production equipment and ensure a safe work environment. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Respond to various requests to repair or replace fixtures and/or equipment. This includes requests such as installing or moving furniture and equipment, drywall repair and painting, minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems;
  • Participate in the development of a maintenance schedule and ensure preventative maintenance of equipment such as HVAC systems, production machinery and building components.
  • Liaise with licensed service providers as required for specific maintenance or installation projects.
  • Conduct workplace inspections to ensure all equipment and workspaces are safe and up to Code, identify and eliminate (whenever possible) Occupational Health and Safety risks.
  • This is a full-time, permanent position which offers excellent benefits.

    The ideal candidate holds a professional diploma or technical degree pertaining to HVAC systems, mechanical maintenance or other related field, combined with a few years’ relevant experience. Vice-President of Marketing

As Vice-President of Marketing for the Hydropothecary, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and lead market positioning, branding, and market intelligence for one of Canada’s largest Licensed Producers of medical marijuana as it prepares for the upcoming legalization of cannabis for adult-use.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice-President of Marketing will be responsible for the development and execution of Hydropothecary’s B2B and B2C marketing strategy and oversee branding, multi-channel product marketing and market research activities. She/he provides overall leadership and guidance to the marketing function and all its specialities.

  • As part of the senior management team, provide advice and insight into the corporate strategy;
  • Develop and execute a marketing strategy that aligns with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Transition Hydropothecary’s current brand from the medical purposes to the adult-use market – Lead the brand story and vision. Establish brand guidelines and ensure consistency on all consumer facing materials and corporate communications.
  • Oversee the continued development of the company’s brand and brand reputation strategy. Continually grow brand awareness among key consumer cohorts;
  • Develop and oversee execution of product marketing initiatives in Quebec and the rest of Canada, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while consistently growing market shares. This includes new product launches, B2B/B2C marketing, digital and traditional medias;
  • Develop a measuring system and key performance indicators to evaluate the success of each marketing program/initiative. Report to Senior Management on activities and results;
  • Oversee the development and on-going maintenance of market intelligence, refining consumer demographics and cannabis market knowledge. Develop a competitive benchmark;
  • Identify trends and new opportunities for diversity and market growth. Work closely with R&D team.
  • Work closely with the Communications team on public relations and social media strategies and campaigns;

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in branding and product marketing, including experience managing a team of professionals covering multiple specialties. Experience at the national level is required while experience in international markets is an important asset.
  • Experience in marketing within a highly regulated environment, such as alcohol, food or pharmaceutical industries, is an important asset;
  • Demonstrated track record of success across marketing activities for both brand and product focused campaigns - advertising, public relations, digital marketing, product launch, etc.

Dried Product Processing Specialist

  • Monitor, participate in and maintain work flow for each step of the post-harvest production: final manicure, milling, decarboxylation and packaging;
  • Clean and maintain equipment and facilities used in the process;
  • Collaborating with the Quality Assurance team to:
    • lot dried product for sale;
    • submit samples for analysis;
    • observe control points and equipment, as well as monitor resources to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Compile, sort, analyze data and report on production performance;

Market Analyst

We are currently seeking a Market Analyst to join our Product Innovation and Management Team. The position is based at our facility located in Gatineau, Quebec. This is a permanent, full-time position which offers excellent benefits.

Reporting to the Product Manager (who will oversee the Product Innovation and Management Team), the Market Analyst gathers data through primary and secondary research and turns it into meaningful insights for the company to make data driven decisions on product planning and corporate initiatives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Research, collect, and analyze data on consumers, products, competitors, trends, and the industry; consolidate analyzed data into reports and proposals;
  • Measure the effectiveness of marketing, sales and communication programs and strategies;

Qualifications:

Senior Accountant

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Services team. Reporting to the Vice-President of Finance, the Senior Accountant will support all finance department activities: accounts receivable, accounts payable, month/year end routines and financial reporting. Among other things, he/she will:

  • Maintain general ledger balance sheet accounts by reconciling accounts details and control accounts.
  • Identify, investigate, analyze and report on account variances.
  • Adjust general ledger balances by posting and/or adjusting journal entries and prepare monthly working papers.
  • Monitor the general ledger for accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Adhere to and promote accounting controls by following policies and procedures, complying with federal, provincial, and local financial legal requirements.
  • Participate in the preparation of quarter end/ year end working papers and close routines.
  • Provide support to the financial reporting function by documenting complete and concise variance analysis into their working papers.
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Recommend improvements for gathering, summarizing and reporting financial information.

Manager of Business Planning and Analysis

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Manager of FP&A will work closely with the Vice President of Finance and business unit leaders throughout the departments. S/He is a keen learner and is a resource for well-informed business recommendations and ideas. The successful candidate will be an accredited accountant (CPA, CA, strongly preferred) coupled with 7 to 10 years of industry experience in a financial management function.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain financial models and perform ad-hoc analyses;
  • Work closely with business unit leaders to prepare forecasts and budgets;
  • Quarterly review of actual results against budgets with critical variance analysis report;
  • Assist with the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and long-range planning processes;
  • Prepare revenue/demand forecasts based on distribution and promotional programs;

Event Coordinator

The Hydropothecary Corporation is seeking a talented individual to join our Operations team in the role of Event Coordinator. This full-time position is located at our Gatineau, Quebec facility.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the suitable candidate will collaborate with sales and marketing to coordinate events, conferences and exhibitions. The incumbent will define and work pre-event logistics and on-site operations for each of the events, as well as managing communications, execution, and post-event follow-up and reporting.

Furthermore, as main point of contact, the Event Coordinator must ensure that all stakeholders contribute and work together in creating and delivering world-class experiences.

Investor Relations Assistant

We are currently seeking an Investor Relations Assistant to join our Corporate Services team. This full-time position is located at our Gatineau (Hull), Quebec facility. It offers a competitive salary and great benefits.

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting and Investor Relations, the Investors Relations Assistant will as act as first point of contact for shareholders and the investing public, while providing administrative support to the Investor Relations team. The incumbent will also be required to provide reception services for the office and may be required to support other members of the Corporate Services team on an as needed basis.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Greet visitors, respond to phone calls, receive and distribute incoming mail.

Junior Web Developer

We are currently seeking a Junior Web Developer with a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in web development. As part of the Marketing department, and reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Junior Web Developer will assist our Webmaster and act as a high-level technical expert in development, testing and deployment of new and existing web applications.

  • Design, develop and implement cost effective, high quality IT solutions that meet or exceed customers’ need;
  • Actively participate in the early stages of software analysis to help management determine the feasibility of projects according to current needs and objectives;
  • Assist in writing and maintaining technical documentation using industry standard formats
  • Monitor deliverable deadlines against scheduled completion dates;
  • Work with the team to ensure that the final product is up to the company standard of quality.

A successful Junior Web Developer must have the ability to write in HTML and CSS, with a good understanding of SASS/SCSS. The ability to develop for mobile and desktop applications (grid/ media breakpoints) is also required. Furthermore, the following requirements are must-have:

Sales Advisor

The new Société Québécoise du Cannabis (SQDC) brings for us a new opportunity to build a team of seasoned advisors. This role is available in the province of Québec (knowledge of the French language is mandatory), with possibility of national and international expansion. Graphic Designer

We are currently seeking a Graphic Designer to join our expanding team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will develop print and digital marketing material, play an active role in ensuring Hydropothecary’s presence on multiple social media platforms, and participate in the execution of various campaigns. Although reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will be expected to work closely and liaise with our Business Development team and Communications experts.

Among other things, the Graphic Designer will be expected to:

  • Assist in the development, review and update of all marketing materials (print and digital), ensuring branding guidelines are respected at every level;
  • Participate in the development and execution of a Social Media Strategy and generate required imagery for social media,
  • Liaise with service providers, including agencies, art services, printers, etc. to ensure completion of mandates and projects within established timelines;
  • Assist the Marketing Manager in the development and execution of various other marketing campaigns and activities.

Requirements:

  • A diploma in graphic design or other related field (as well as a portfolio) is required;
  • In-depth knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator (other program knowledge would be considered an asset);

Logistics Manager

The Logistics Manager oversees logistics operations for the Hydropothecary by managing third-party logistics services and solutions for the organization. dealing with outbound materials management and improvement. The scope of logistics services includes but is not limited to: transportation fleet management, outbound material scheduling, customer delivery, use of 3rd party service providers (3rd party assets), and other duties, as required. The overarching responsibility is to optimize the network and collaborate with all stakeholders to streamline material flow, making use of the appropriate asset or non-asset-based conveyance.

The Logistics Manager works in collaboration with the various service centers and manufacturing operations to provide improvement plans, measures and support for their various ongoing businesses and projects.

Along with the Vice-President of Operations, the Logistics Manager will also be assisting in the development of a successful 3rd party logistics organization and will be undertaking the various existing challenges and supporting the current state of the business. As part of the Logistics team, the Logistics Manager will be an active participant in Logistics and Supply Chain tactical and operations planning.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, organize, direct and manage logistics, transportation and cross-dock operations in assigned area;
  • Ensure all logistics options are thoroughly analyzed and optimized and ensure implementation and execution of logistics plans;
  • Ensure logistics solutions have built-in flexibility and robustness to elevate service and delivery performance;
  • Assist in the building and development of local carriers;

Cleaning Specialist

We are currently seeking a Cleaning Specialist who will report to the Facilities and Security Manager. The Cleaning Specialist will work closely with other Facilities staff to ensure that office spaces, shared spaces and production areas are cleaned in accordance with Standards Operating Procedures and Health Canada requirements. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Clean various workspaces in accordance with the pre-established schedule.
  • Ensure cleaning of offices spaces: sweep and mop floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting and upholstered furniture.
  • Clean and disinfect public areas such as lunchrooms and washrooms.
  • Empty Trash containers and recycling bins.
  • Periodically wash windows and walls.
  • Clean walkways, hallways, walls and/or counters in the Production area in accordance with SOP and ACMPR requirements. This includes greenhouses, laboratories and other secured areas.
  • Requirements:

  • Experience in industrial and/or commercial cleaning is an asset.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

Accounting Clerk

We are currently seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our Corporate Services team. This full-time position is located at our Gatineau, Quebec facility. It offers a competitive salary and great benefits.

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Clerk is responsible to work within the framework of the finance team in the processing of all supplier invoices and employee travel claims for payment; ensure accuracy to purchase orders; ensure allocation to the proper general ledger accounts; reconcile vendor statements; clear all employee credit card purchases and perform other related general accounting functions as and when required.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval.
  • Coding invoices to proper GL accounts and classes (i.e. departments).
  • Update and maintain vendor databases.
  • Process 3 way P.O. matching invoices, up to 100 plus line items.
  • Maintain account payable files.
  • Coordinate and enforce purchase requisition processes.
  • Prepare weekly cash plan including cheque requisition.
  • Print and coordinate signature approvals of weekly cheque runs for multiple. companies. Ensure cheques agree to invoices and distribute checks accordingly.
  • Audit and process credit card bills.
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries and ensure vendor payments and contact information is up to date.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.
  • Assist with month end routines by assembling documentation, vouching and testing transactions.
  • Enter daily bank transaction in QuickBooks, including cash receipts to Account Receivable sub-ledger.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Make weekly bank deposits
  • Daily mail pick ups from local post office. Sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Assist with other projects and finance/administrative duties as needed

The successful candidate holds a degree accounting and has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Accounts Payable. Experience in Accounts Receivable is an asset. Bilingualism is also an important asset. Proficiency with the MS Office Suite and Quickbooks is required. He/She must be highly motivated with strong attention to detail, organizational skills, autonomy, communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment undergoing rapid growth.

CSR Research Assistant

We are currently seeking a Researcher who will report to the Vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility. The researcher will assist in monitoring social and policy issues, as well as the development of CSR-related programs. He/she will also be responsible for coordinating the daily activities and communications of the VP of Corporate Social Responsibility.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Receiving and triaging incoming calls, emails and/or mail, responding as directed or redirecting to the appropriate team member as required.
  • Coordinating meetings and other events, including: invitations, logistics, catering, agenda and document preparations, etc.
  • Conducting research and develop policies/programs in the area of corporate social responsibility, which may include conducting surveys, analyzing data, compiling and interpreting statistics on social issues and policy areas.
