Business Development Manager

Founded in 2013, Hydropothecary aims to provide Canadians with quality products and an exceptional customer service experience. Though we currently sell directly to patients with a prescription from their doctor through our company website and 24/7 call center, we are looking forward to recreational markets opening in July 2018. As such, we are currently seeking Business Development Managers in various areas across Canada to work closely with our Vice-President of Business Development in preparation for this new market.

Number of positions available: 3 – Quebec/Maritime, Ontario, Western Canada.

Reporting to the Vice-President of Business Development, the Business Development Manager is involved in planning for upcoming recreational markets, develops and manages relationships with potential retailers (either governmental and/or private) and is responsible for wholesales within these channels. The incumbent’s objective will be to secure distribution and continually expand sales of Hydropothecary’s multiple product lines, positioning Hydropothecary as a core supplier of quality marijuana for recreational use.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with key decision-makers from provincial and territorial control boards and/or private retailers charged with oversight of the recreational cannabis, securing Hydropothecary’s position as a core partner and trusted resource within the industry;
  • Leverage relationships to increase Hydropothecary’s visibility, as well as sales and distribution opportunities;
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure achievement of sales and growth targets;
  • Implement and provide feedback on distribution plans for respective provinces and/or sub-markets, report on progress and recommend adjustments as this burgeoning market continues to evolve;
  • Work with Upper Management and Finance to define budgetary requirements and a channel-specific sales forecast;
  • Develop and deliver persuasive presentations to secure distribution of Hydropothecary product, and continually increase market share;
  • Execute an overall sales program that includes services and pricing;
  • Ensure annual sales volumes, revenue and margin contribution meet planned levels in order to meet and exceed the regional business plan;
  • Develop and, upon approval, execute value-added initiatives and programs, such as incentives, events, education programs, etc.;
  • Ensure regular visits to retail locations, provide merchandising and operations assistance, and ensure overall satisfaction of the retailer’s needs and ensuring loyalty to our brand;
  • Manage POS material, from development to delivery and installation;
  • Track industry/competitive information within the province for the recreational cannabis market and report to the Management Team;

Qualifications

  • University Degree in business, sales and/or marketing (or equivalent);
  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, with a proven track record for meeting or exceeding sales targets;
  • Previous experience within a wholesale distribution model is required, with strong knowledge of Canada’s alcoholic beverage industry being an asset;
  • Knowledge of cannabis products and the cannabis industry are an important asset;
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle;
  • Ability and availability to travel regularly.

Dried Product Processing Specialist

The Hydropothecary is a licensed producer of medical marijuana, which is sold legally and directly to patients with a prescription from their doctor through our company website. Founded in 2013, Hydropothecary aims to provide Canadians with quality products and an exceptional customer service experience.

We are currently seeking an Dried Product Processing Specialist who will be responsible for manicuring, milling, decarboxylation and packaging of dried medical marijuana, as well as completing all required documentation. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Monitor, participate in and maintain work flow for each step of the post-harvest production: final manicure, milling, decarboxylation and packaging;
  • Clean and maintain equipment and facilities used in the process;
  • Collaborating with the Quality Assurance team to:

    • lot dried product for sale;
    • submit samples for analysis;
    • observe control points and equipment, as well as monitor resources to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Compile, sort, analyze data and report on production performance;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cost reduction solutions and reporting systems;
  • Adhere to safe and sanitary working procedures and practices at all times;
  • Assisting the Oil Product processing team as required.

The ideal candidate holds a diploma in science and experience working in a laboratory environment since this position requires strong attention to detail and strict adherence to written Standards Operating Procedure. Organization skills, demonstrated record keeping abilities and proficiency with MS Office are essential. An understanding of Health Canada’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is an asset. Bilingualism is also an important asset.

Facilities Coordinator

The Hydropothecary is a licensed producer of medical marijuana, which is sold legally and directly to patients with a prescription from their doctor through our company website. Founded in 2013, Hydropothecary aims to provide Canadians with quality products and an exceptional customer service experience.

We are currently seeking a Facilities Coordinator who will report to the Facilities and Security Manager. The Facilities Coordinator will work closely with other Facilities staff to ensure the overall upkeep of our installations, maintain production equipment and ensure a safe work environment. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Receive, respond to and/or assign various requests to repair or replace fixtures and/or equipment. This includes requests such as greenhouse infrastructure repairs installing or moving furniture and equipment, drywall repair and painting, minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems;
  • Participate in the development of a maintenance schedule and ensure preventative maintenance of equipment such as HVAC systems, production machinery and building components.
  • Leads the team of Facilities Specialists, provides guidance in the resolution of complex issues and coordinates workload as needed, based on priorities as established with the Facilities and Security Manager;
  • Liaise with licensed service providers as required for specific maintenance or installation projects.
  • Conduct workplace inspections to ensure all equipment and workspaces are safe and up to Code, identify and eliminate (whenever possible) Occupational Health and Safety risks.

The ideal candidate holds a professional diploma or technical degree in the field of building construction and maintenance , combined with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience. Demonstrated abilities in carpentry, electricity and/or plumbing are major assets.  Forklift certification is also an asset. Candidates must demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and be able to communicate verbally in French and in English.

Assistant Grower

Hydropothecary is a licensed producer and distributor of medical marijuana under Health Canada`s Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR). Our company`s founding vision is to combine artisanal growing techniques and quality production with the highest levels of customer service. Out medical cannabis is naturally grown, without the use of synthetic pesticides in state-of-the-art greenhouses. We are currently seeking an Assistant Grower. This is a full-time permanent position which offers excellent benefits.

Role and responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Master Grower, the Assistant Grower will execute the following tasks related to production:

  • will maintain and renew mother plants
  • will assist in cloning and germination of new plants
  • will efficiently transplant the plants into desired pots
  • will maintain plants in flowering
  • will effectively scout for insects and diseases
  • will assist in necessary treatments (application of predators, sprays)
  • will be able to follow and supervise work orders provided by the Master Grower
  • will supervise and help with harvesting activities when needed (trimming, drying, etc.)
  • will be able to effectively keep track of inventory of growing plants and work with ICS
  • will be detail oriented and correctly fill out all forms connected to his/her work
  • will show initiative in all activities pertaining to cultivation

Including all of the above-mentioned tasks, the Assistant Grower will know and follow all sanitation regulations, as well as, security regulations in all their performed tasks. They will strictly follow all the operational procedures they are assigned to as described by the SOPs. They will work efficiently, independently and will be very detail oriented. They will be punctual, available and will maintain a good work atmosphere with their colleagues.

Minimum Requirements

  • A college diploma in horticulture or related field is required
  • 2-3 years of work in the greenhousing industry
  • Available to work sometimes on weekends
  • Pesticide certification is a plus, but not necessary

Project Manager

The Hydropothecary Corporation is a licensed producer of medical marijuana, which is sold legally and directly to patients with a prescription from their doctor through our company website. Founded in 2013, Hydropothecary aims to provide Canadians with quality products and an exceptional customer service experience.

We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our Product Management Team. The position is based at our facility located in Gatineau, Quebec. This is a permanent, full-time position which offers excellent benefits.

Reporting to the Product Manager (who will oversee the Product Management Team), the Project Manager ensures every project is delivered on time, within budget and scope. Projects will include the quarterly launch of new products, collaborative activities and other product management initiatives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing projects for New Product Introduction (NPI) and new Product Management initiatives from beginning to end.
  • Building detailed project plans and reports to track progress and keep relevant stakeholders up to date on project execution.
  • Coordinating internal resources and dependencies from vendors.
  • Working closely with internal teams such as Sales and Marketing, Operations, QA and Cultivation to define/fine tune product development/management processes.
  • Ensuring products and projects are compliant with the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulation.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate holds a PMP designation, combined with a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Project Manager. Experience in project management within the pharmaceutical sector or another FMCG setting is an important asset. Bilingualism is preferred.

Candidates should also have advanced knowledge of G-Suite, MS Office Suite (including MS Project) and other project management software. The ability to work in a fast-aced environment undergoing rapid growth is also essential.

Junior Brand Builder

We are currently seeking a Junior Brand Builder to join our expanding team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will develop print and digital marketing material, play an active role in ensuring Hydropothecary’s presence on multiple social media platforms, and participate in the execution of various campaigns. Although reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will be expected to work closely and liaise with our Business Development team and Communications experts.

Among other things, the Junior Brand Builder will be expected to:

  • Assist the Brand Builder in the development, review and update of all marketing materials (print and digital), ensuring branding guidelines are respected at every level;
  • Participate in the development and execution of a Social Media Strategy and generate required imagery for social media,
  • Liaise with service providers, including agencies, art services, printers, etc. to ensure completion of mandates and projects within established timelines;
  • Assist the Marketing Manager in the development and execution of various other marketing campaigns and activities.

Requirement:

  • A diploma in graphic design or other related field (as well as a portfolio) is required;
  • In-depth knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator (other program knowledge would be considered an asset);
  • In-depth knowledge of Social Media platforms is an important asset;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative concepts and visual design to meet business objectives;
  • Experience in conceptualizing and/or creating video content is an important asset;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment while remaining   organized and manage multiple projects simultaneously;

ERP System Administrator

With the upcoming implementation of our new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, we are seeking an ERP System Administrator. The ERP System Administrator is the resident expert on Hydropothecary’s ERP system, data warehouse and management reporting. He/she is responsible for ERP system support, maintenance and configuration. They ensure a positive experience, problem resolution and managing escalations to support business and users in daily operations.

More specifically, the ERP System Administrator will:

  • Develop, monitor, document and maintain best practices for system administration and application security;
  • Manage users and roles;
  • Conduct user training as required;
  • Provide level 1 support, troubleshoot technical and functional issues;
  • Facilitate and follow up on level 2 & 3 support from 3rd parties, liaise with and manage external support when required for troubleshooting, upgrades, etc.
  • Working with a Business Analyst, configure changes for continuous improvement of processes;
  • Construct Queries and export data;
  • Establish regular monitoring and maintenance process and procedure, report on status and performance of the ERP;
  • Verify that design and execution of the systems, configuration and maintenance fulfills SLA goals;
  • Suggest solutions for system design, tuning options and potential issues;
  • Aid the management team in resource planning for future needs.

The ideal candidate holds a post-secondary degree in Information Technology or Business Sciences, with 3 to 5 years’ experience supporting an ERP system. Any other relevant combination of training and experience may be considered. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively is French and in English, both verbally and in writing. Familiarity with Microsoft NAV ERP, Jet Report Enterprise and MS PowerBI are important assets. Inside Sales Manager

We are currently seeking an Inside Sales Manager to oversee the activities of our inside sales call center. Reporting to the Vice-President of Business Development, the Inside Sales Manager will lead an inside sales call center workforce through proactive, forward thinking and by demonstrating exemplary sales abilities for revenues generated through both outbound and inbound calls. While being an active member of the inside sales team, he/she will participate in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of sales processes in support of Hydropothecary strategies and objectives.

The Inside Sales Manager will:

  • Actively pursue and achieve personal revenue and/or growth quotas via telephone, email and other campaigns;
  • Provide leadership and guidance to other members of Inside Sales Team members that will ensure employees understand Hydropothecary’s objectives and reach individual/corporate sales goals;
  • Work with the VP of Business Development to develop and implement strategies, policies and procedures pertaining to sales – enhancing workflows and implementing accurate forecasting and actionable KPIs/metrics focused on achieving revenue growth;
  • Become a leading resource on customer specific needs and requirements, providing timely information to internal partners. Analyse data and report to Executive team, demonstrating that results are aligned with corporate objectives;
  • Liaise with Business Development and Marketing teams to tailor products and campaigns to customer needs and communicate consistent messages;
