Oil Product Processing Specialist

The Hydropothecary is a licensed producer of medical marijuana, which is sold legally and directly to patients with a prescription from their doctor through our company website. Founded in 2013, Hydropothecary aims to provide Canadians with quality products and an exceptional customer service experience.

We are currently seeking an Oil Product Processing Specialist who will be responsible for the extraction, blending, diluting and packaging of medical cannabis oil, as well as completing all required documentation. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Preparing and operating extraction machinery;
  • Blending bulk cannabis oils to produce a finished oil dilution;
  • Working with the Quality Assurance team to submit samples for analysis;
  • Entering production and analysis data into an oil production database, and ensuring said database is accurate and updated at all times;
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment, utensils and facilities used in the process;
  • Adhering to safe and sanitary working procedures and practices at all times;
  • Assisting the Dry Product processing team as required.

The ideal candidate holds a diploma in science and experience working in a laboratory environment since this position requires strong attention to detail and strict adherence to written Standards Operating Procedure. Organization skills, demonstrated record keeping abilities and proficiency with MS Office are essential. An understanding of Health Canada’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is an asset. Bilingualism is also an important asset.

Vice-President of Marketing

As Vice-President of Marketing for the Hydropothecary, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and lead market positioning, branding, and market intelligence for one of Canada’s largest Licensed Producers of medical marijuana as it prepares for the upcoming legalization of cannabis for adult-use.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice-President of Marketing will be responsible for the development and execution of Hydropothecary’s B2B and B2C marketing strategy and oversee branding, multi-channel product marketing and market research activities. She/he provides overall leadership and guidance to the marketing function and all its specialities.

  • As part of the senior management team, provide advice and insight into the corporate strategy;
  • Develop and execute a marketing strategy that aligns with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Transition Hydropothecary’s current brand from the medical purposes to the adult-use market – Lead the brand story and vision. Establish brand guidelines and ensure consistency on all consumer facing materials and corporate communications.
  • Oversee the continued development of the company’s brand and brand reputation strategy. Continually grow brand awareness among key consumer cohorts;
  • Develop and oversee execution of product marketing initiatives in Quebec and the rest of Canada, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while consistently growing market shares. This includes new product launches, B2B/B2C marketing, digital and traditional medias;
  • Develop a measuring system and key performance indicators to evaluate the success of each marketing program/initiative. Report to Senior Management on activities and results;
  • Oversee the development and on-going maintenance of market intelligence, refining consumer demographics and cannabis market knowledge. Develop a competitive benchmark;
  • Identify trends and new opportunities for diversity and market growth. Work closely with R&D team.
  • Work closely with the Communications team on public relations and social media strategies and campaigns;
  • Oversee the development and distribution of marketing collateral for internal teams, including but not limited to Investor Relations, Communications, Customer Service and Sales;
  • Remain current on marketing trends and sales technologies;
  • Manage relationships with and monitor performance of external agencies and suppliers, ensuring maximum ROI
  • Lead, coach and develop members of the marketing team;
  • Manage a multi-million-dollar budget.

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in branding and product marketing, including experience managing a team of professionals covering multiple specialties. Experience at the national level is required while experience in international markets is an important asset.
  • Experience in marketing within a highly regulated environment, such as alcohol, food or pharmaceutical industries, is an important asset;
  • Demonstrated track record of success across marketing activities for both brand and product focused campaigns - advertising, public relations, digital marketing, product launch, etc.
  • Candidates must be fluently bilingual (French and English)
Dried Product Processing Specialist

We are currently seeking an Dried Product Processing Specialist who will be responsible for manicuring, milling, decarboxylation and packaging of dried medical marijuana, as well as completing all required documentation. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Monitor, participate in and maintain work flow for each step of the post-harvest production: final manicure, milling, decarboxylation and packaging;
  • Clean and maintain equipment and facilities used in the process;
  • Collaborating with the Quality Assurance team to:
    • lot dried product for sale;
    • submit samples for analysis;
    • observe control points and equipment, as well as monitor resources to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Compile, sort, analyze data and report on production performance;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cost reduction solutions and reporting systems;
  • Adhere to safe and sanitary working procedures and practices at all times;
  • Assisting the Oil Product processing team as required.

Market Analyst

The Hydropothecary Corporation is a licensed producer of medical marijuana, which is sold legally and directly to patients with a prescription from their doctor through our company website. We are currently seeking a Market Analyst to join our Product Innovation and Management Team. The position is based at our facility located in Gatineau, Quebec. This is a permanent, full-time position which offers excellent benefits.

Reporting to the Product Manager (who will oversee the Product Innovation and Management Team), the Market Analyst gathers data through primary and secondary research and turns it into meaningful insights for the company to make data driven decisions on product planning and corporate initiatives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Research, collect, and analyze data on consumers, products, competitors, trends, and the industry; consolidate analyzed data into reports and proposals;
  • Measure the effectiveness of marketing, sales and communication programs and strategies;
  • Understand business objectives, design surveys and focus groups to identify opportunities of new products and market segments;
  • Keep abreast of economic, market, and industry news;
  • Assist with special projects and other initiatives, as required;

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate holds a degree in statistics, marketing or related field, combined with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a market analyst role. Experience within the pharmaceutical sector or another FMCG setting is an important asset. French/English bilingualism is an asset.

Candidates should also have advanced knowledge of G-Suite, MS Office Suite and other statistical analysis packages (e.g. SPSS, SAS or similar). The ability to work in a fast-paced environment undergoing rapid growth is also essential.

Event Coordinator

The Hydropothecary Corporation is seeking a talented individual to join our Operations team in the role of Event Coordinator. This full-time position is located at our Gatineau, Quebec facility.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the suitable candidate will collaborate with sales and marketing to coordinate events, conferences and exhibitions. The incumbent will define and work pre-event logistics and on-site operations for each of the events, as well as managing communications, execution, and post-event follow-up and reporting.

The ideal candidate has excellent event management skills and expertise and has experience evaluating event feasibility and return-on-investment. Furthermore, as main point of contact, the Event Coordinator must ensure that all stakeholders contribute and work together in creating and delivering world-class experiences.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Research, evaluate, and recommend events, conferences, and exhibitions;
  • Plan, develop and manage a marketing plan for each event;
  • Define, coordinate and manage logistics for each event;
  • Develop metrics and reporting for each event;
  • Manage the presence and the participation of Hydropothecary for each conference, event, or exhibition;
  • Plan and execute sales events and unique experiences to drive Hydropothecary’s goals and objectives;

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

Investor Relations Manager

The Hydropothecary Corporation is seeking a talented individual to join our Finance team in the role of Investor Relations Manager.

Reporting to the Director, Investor Relations, the suitable candidate will ensure the company is properly and strategically positioned within the investor and analyst community. This position reports will create the necessary framework, strategic plan, and a highly captivating Investor Relations plan. The job requires very strong interpersonal and communication skills, a well-developed network, and the ability to manage external relationships in the professional investors’ community.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and oversee execution of strategic investor relations plan that is aligned with the company’s long-range goals, to include investor targeting in Canada, U.S. and Europe;
  • Develop effective outreach and marketing programs with prospective institutional investors and leverages existing contacts and relationships;
  • Plan and oversee execution of key investor events, including road shows, conferences, investor meetings, and periodic investor days;
  • Serve as primary contact with investment community (buy and sell side);
  • Develop a thorough understanding of stock ownership, stock price, research reports and other items for the Company, and monitor and assess changes and trends in ownership of the Company’s stock;
  • Provide the Company’s executive leadership reports on investor feedback, perceptions and opinions, competitive intelligence, analysts’ positions and summaries, relative stock price movements, peer group comparative data, and periodic ownership analysis;
  • Monitor stock trading dynamics as well as market and industry news in order to summarize information concisely for management, and on occasion, the Board of Directors;

Graphic Designer

We are currently seeking a Graphic Designer to join our expanding team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will develop print and digital marketing material, play an active role in ensuring Hydropothecary’s presence on multiple social media platforms, and participate in the execution of various campaigns. Although reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will be expected to work closely and liaise with our Business Development team and Communications experts.

Among other things, the Graphic Designer will be expected to:

  • Assist in the development, review and update of all marketing materials (print and digital), ensuring branding guidelines are respected at every level;
  • Participate in the development and execution of a Social Media Strategy and generate required imagery for social media,
  • Liaise with service providers, including agencies, art services, printers, etc. to ensure completion of mandates and projects within established timelines;
  • Assist the Marketing Manager in the development and execution of various other marketing campaigns and activities.

Requirements:

  • A diploma in graphic design or other related field (as well as a portfolio) is required;
  • In-depth knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator (other program knowledge would be considered an asset);
  • In-depth knowledge of Social Media platforms is an important asset;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative concepts and visual design to meet business objectives;
  • Experience in conceptualizing and/or creating video content is an important asset;

Cleaning Specialist

We are currently seeking a Cleaning Specialist who will report to the Facilities and Security Manager. The Cleaning Specialist will work closely with other Facilities staff to ensure that office spaces, shared spaces and production areas are cleaned in accordance with Standards Operating Procedures and Health Canada requirements. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Clean various workspaces in accordance with the pre-established schedule.
  • Ensure cleaning of offices spaces: sweep and mop floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting and upholstered furniture.
  • Clean and disinfect public areas such as lunchrooms and washrooms.
  • Empty Trash containers and recycling bins.
  • Periodically wash windows and walls.
  • Clean walkways, hallways, walls and/or counters in the Production area in accordance with SOP and ACMPR requirements. This includes greenhouses, laboratories and other secured areas.

Requirements:

  • Experience in industrial and/or commercial cleaning is an asset.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

    Building Operator

    The Hydropothecary is a licensed producer of medical marijuana, which is sold legally and directly to patients with a prescription from their doctor through our company website.     We are currently seeking a Facilities Specialist who will report to the Facilities Manager and Supervisor. The Facilities Specialist will work closely with other Facilities staff to ensure the overall upkeep of our greenhouses, maintain production equipment and ensure a safe work environment. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Conduct preventative maintenance and inspect as required mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems and related equipment including but not limited to carbon dioxide supplementation systems, water treatment, boilers, air handling units, irrigation system, computerized environmental control systems, greenhouse and building envelope, etc, on daily/weekly basis and complete appropriate record logs in order to ensure equipment is maintained in good working order;
    • Participate in the development of a maintenance schedule and ensure preventative maintenance of equipment such as HVAC systems, production machinery and building components.
    • Liaise with licensed service providers as required for specific maintenance or installation projects.
    • Conduct workplace inspections to ensure all equipment and workspaces are safe and up to Code, identify and eliminate (whenever possible) Occupational Health and Safety risks.

    The ideal candidate is a good communication and as excellent customer service skills, able to work independently with minimal direction and able to respond quickly to emergency situations, great time management skills and ability to prioritize work in order to deliver successful results within agreed upon time frames. Collaborative worker and effective member of a team, good judgment and decision-making skills, detailed oriented and good organization skills, positive attitude and willingness to work overtime. Adaptable to new ideas and change.

    This is a full-time, permanent 24/7 rotating shift work position which offers excellent benefits.
